ITANAGAR, May 26: Khiren Rijiju has been inducted in Narendra Modi’s council of ministry as Minister of State. From a grassroot worker to the post of BJP national secretary and now to Parliament, Kiren Rijiju, a youth leader from Arunachal Pradesh, has travelled a long way.
Born in November 19, 1971 at Nakhu Village under Nafra circle in West Kameng district, Rijiju is a firebrand young leader who has entered the Lok Sabha for the second time.
Earlier he was elected from Arunachal West constituency to the 14th Lok Sabha.
As the BJP's MP from Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju won this time especially because Modi showed a huge interest in the development of the Northeast and wanted the party to grow roots there.

NHPC distributes sports item to youths of Dollungmukh

‘Expedite investigation’
ITANGAR, May 26: While expressing shock and grief over mysterious death of Aroti Mize, Apatani Cultural and Literary Society, Ziro urged the Capital Complex Police and administration to expedite the investigation to deliver impartial justice to all concern at the earliest.
“A criminal has no society,” the Society said, and urged the police to act swiftly to bring the culprit to book under appropriate section of the law.
The Society conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to almighty to rest her departed soul in peace.
The Society will be participating in tomorrow’s proposed candle light march to express solidarity with the family members of the deceased and to urge the investigating authority to expedite the investigation to deliver the justice without fear and favour at the earliest.
Swift action in Aroti Mize death case demanded
ITANAGAR, May 26: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (AAPYO) has demanded for swift action in the death case of Aroti Mize at R K Mission Hospital here on May 21 last.
In its letter also seeking stringent punishment to the accused responsible for the death, it urged that nobody should grant bail to the accused. It further asked to depute patrolling team in areas of Capital Complex such as Indira Gandhi Park and Gompa Mandir.

ITANAGAR, May 26: Nada Rajen, elder brother of one Nada Tatung/Omo has appealed all the public, social and community based organizations, print and social media to observe restraint and to let the law of land take it’s own course in unearthing the truth and giving justice to the deceased and also the alleged suspect.
Conveying deep condolence over the mysterious death of one Aroti Mize at RK Mission Hospital here on 21st May and praying for justice to her departed soul, Rajen in a statement clarified that reports in various media indicating that his brother Nada Tatung was involved in this case were based on rumours and hearsay and not based on the facts.
Giving clarification as an elder brother of Omo, Rajen said “in fact Aroti Mize who came to our house asking for help was taken to RKM Hospital by my brother and admitted her in the afternoon (around 1300hrs on 20th May 2014 and not in the wee hours of 21st May. This can be verified from the RKM Hospital.” He further said in the clarification that his brother admitted late Mize and stayed with her and attended to her treatment till she passed away around 0845 hrs on 21st May and met her relatives and police who came to Hospital after her death.
Terming it as rumour that ‘his brother tried to conceal the incident by entering the name of the deceased as Sumpi Borang,’ the elder brother of Omo further said that the deceased was known to his brother as Sumpi Borang. “Only after the deceased passed away and when her relatives came to Hospital, my brother and we came to know that her real name is Miss Aroti Mize.”
“Although my brother tried to care and save Mize within all his capacity, there is lot of rumours going around accusing my brother of rape and murder on wrongly premised circumstances,” the statement said adding “if there is any iota of truth about rape and murder, the justice should be done to the departed soul and criminal should be punished as per the law of land. We must acknowledge that crime is a crime and the criminal is a criminal without any affiliation to caste, creed, tribe or community and is a common enemy of society as a whole.”
“Having personally seen and experienced how my brother put in all efforts to save late Aroti Mize, it pains me and my family to see my brother put to trial by people through various media without knowing the truth behind this unfortunate incident,” statement said.

Strict punishment be given to accused

We call Arunachal Pradesh as 'land of peace" but is it really worthy to be called by this name? If we see the increasing crime rate especially against women, I don’t think it is worth to be mentioned as land of peace. Day by day the state is losing its glory. In the recent past state has witness many heinous crime against women starting from rape to even murder. The tragedy of Aroty Mize deeply saddened my heart. My deep condolence goes to her and her family members. But we can reconstruct the loss glory again by strictly implementing law and order in the state. Also by giving an exemplary punishment to the accused if found guilty, so that no one will dare to commit such heinous crime in the near future.

Everyone knows that views expressed by conscious citizens of state which are published in local Medias are never taken seriously by those authorities to whom the issue is referred. I am also against govt. policy of making political appointment in our state. This issue was raised in your esteemed daily by journalist Taba Ajum under the headline “Political appointment burden on state coffers” published on 24th May. This is real fact and serious issue to ponder upon. The appointment of OSD to Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh should be done on the merits of his or her excellencies in particular branch or department. What is the need of appointing retired non Arunachalee officers as OSD and advisors? Will they provide huge funds to Arunachal by lobbying with centre govt.? There are so many retired officers within our state who can be appointed as OSD to govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. I would also like to suggest that appointment of chairman and Vice Chairman be minimized to save state exchequers.

This evening Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India along with his key colleagues in the Cabinet. Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley has been given the charge of finance ministry and additional charge of the defence ministry. Apart from Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj has been given charge of ministry of external affairs and Rajnath Singh was given charge of the home ministry. Arunachal too found space in Modi cabinet as western parliament MP Kiren Rijiju was sworn in as minister of state. Rijiju is believed to have been given charge of rural development.
Nation has massive expectation from Modi led government. Indian economy is in bad condition. The job market is down and ever increasing unemployment rate is making youth restless. PM Modi and Jailey who is the new finance minister need to immediately work towards reviving economy. The people of Arunachal expect that Modi government will give special attention to this border state. Already he has shown glimpse of it by giving cabinet berth to Kiren Rijiju. Hope Arunachal will progress in true sense under the patronage of NDA government.
